The Power of Partnerships
At AIHA, we believe in the power of partnerships. For the past 30 years, we've been linking institutions that have a great deal of experience addressing critical public health concerns with others that can learn from that experience using a voluntary, peer-based "twinning" model and through other interventions.
Working with more than 210 U.S. hospitals or health systems and over 55 schools of the health professions and a like number of institutions in 42 low- or middle-income countries spanning the globe, AIHA has played a critical role in international health systems strengthening efforts and the development of well-trained human resources for health.
AIHA is proud of all that we've accomplished in 2022. Some highlights include: strengthening the capacity of the Ethiopian Institute for Primary Health in Ethiopia through a twinning partnership with the University of Queensland; developing future public health leaders in Ethiopia through a comprehensive leadership program; HIV testing and referral to treatment of the most vulnerable populations in the Philippines; expanding our social welfare work in Nigeria to several other states to care for children and orphans impacted by HIV/AIDS in that country.
We're proud of our accomplishments, but building sustainable health system capacity is a difficult, long-term endeavor and there is still a lot of work to be done.
Your tax-deductible contribution — no matter how small — will help us continue this life-saving work and make a real difference in the quality of care available to millions of people in developing and transitioning nations around the world.
Thank you for your support!
